First impressions of Berlin? No sense of direction; no topography; which way is north? If not for Berlin's towering Fernsehturm (TV tower) we would still be lost. The lasting impression? Wandering the various neighbourhoods and discovering the food, especially the vegan/vegetarian choices. History, war, museums, art, churches, shopping, great transit, and pastries make a week in Berlin fly by. It’s an old city with a youthful, exciting outlook; the east and west still merging with construction everywhere. Getting lost in Berlin is perfectly ok.
