The snowshoe season last year was a bust (no trips taken) so Andrew and I decide to start the 2015/16 season with a trip to Joffre Lakes on a clear December day. We find plenty of snow but the sun sat low in the sky making only brief appearances resulting in temperatures ranging from -5C to -10C. The waxing crescent moon rose over the mountains in preparation for a full moon appearance on Christmas day. After the hike we drive the car up the road to Duffey Lake then return to Joffre to try some night photography on the frozen shore of the first lake.
