On a perfect Spring weekend Martin, Mauro, and Wolf decide to climb the West peak of Castle Towers in Garibaldi Provincial Park. After hiking up the Helm Creek trail we go off-trail ascending the moraine between Helm Peak and the Cinder Cone, then up the snow field on Helm Glacier to crest on Gentian Ridge. Although we did not get to the peak (due to snow that slowed our travel) we found a perfect camp site on Gentian Ridge which offered fine views of the glaciated face of Castle Towers as well as the brooding Black Tusk, and Mt Garibaldi.
